Antifracture effects of zoledronate persist for up to 3.5 years, study suggests
Fracture rates rose from 15 per 1,000 woman-years in the last two years of a six-year trial to 24 fractures in the first two years of follow-up. In the next two years of follow-up, the rate substantially increased to 42 fractures per 1,000 woman-years.

Calcium, vitamin D may affect long-term health in postmenopausal women

Study finds no link between elective surgery and dementia risk in seniors
Patients older than age 65 years who underwent elective surgeries had a 4.6% rate of incident dementia within five years, compared to 6.9% in matched controls who consulted with a surgeon but did not undergo surgery, a Canadian study found.

Colchicine linked to lower incidence of total knee, hip replacements in patients with chronic coronary artery disease
