Cervical cancer screening may be able to occur later, less often in HPV-vaccinated women, study suggests
When compared with no intervention, vaccination alone with no screening produced a 64.6% mean reduction in lifetime cervical cancer risk, and screening strategies increased this risk reduction to a range of 88% to 98%. The lowest cost-effectiveness ratio was seen with cytology-only screening every 5 years starting at age 35, compared with vaccination alone.

Physicians often omit harms when discussing lung cancer screening, study finds
In one study, while physicians universally recommended lung cancer screening, discussion of harms was essentially absent, and none of the patient encounters met the minimum skill criteria for eight of 12 shared decision-making behaviors.

Make screening for prostate cancer an individual choice, USPSTF says
Prostate-specific antigen-based screening programs in men ages 55 to 69 years may prevent approximately 1.3 deaths from prostate cancer over approximately 13 years per 1,000 men screened, as well as approximately three cases of metastatic prostate cancer per 1,000 men screened, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) found.
