Among survey respondents ages 45 years and older, the most common modifiable risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias was hypertension (49.9%), followed by not meeting guidelines for aerobic physical activity (49.7%), obesity (35.3%), and diabetes (18.6%).

Inappropriate outpatient antibiotics linked to adverse drug events, excess health care costs
Prescriptions of antibiotics to U.S. adults with viral respiratory infections were associated with diarrhea, vulvovaginal candidiasis/vaginitis, and allergies, while use of an inappropriate antibiotic for bacterial infections was associated with nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Study finds low rates of CAD testing in patients with new-onset heart failure

Quadruple therapy for heart failure cost-effective compared to previous standard of care
Adding a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor to standard care had intermediate cost-effectiveness, but replacing an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor with an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor was only borderline cost-effective, a modeling study found.
