During the May 24 virtual live event, a panel of experts will discuss challenges related to the care of patients who have lasting symptoms following acute SARS-CoV-2 infection.


ACP members can register now for ACP and Annals of Internal Medicine's virtual live event COVID-19 Forum IX: Management of Patients with Persistent Symptoms after COVID-19, which will be held on May 24 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. ET. A panel of experts will discuss challenges related to the care of patients with persistent symptoms after acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. The forum will be moderated by Elisa I. Choi, MD, FACP, Chair of ACP's Board of Governors.

The panelists joining the discussion include:

  • Carlos del Rio, MD, FACP, executive associate dean and distinguished professor in the department of medicine, division of infectious diseases at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta;
  • Aluko Hope, MD, MSCE, associate professor in the division of pulmonary/critical care and medical director of the Long COVID-19 Program at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland;
  • H. Clifford Lane, MD, MACP, deputy director of clinical research and special projects and director of the division of clinical research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; and
  • Lindsay Lief, MD, Abby Joseph Cohen Clinical Scholar and associate professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and associate attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
