Rodolfo V. Young, MD, MACP, died on July 29.

He served as governor for the Central America Chapter from 1976 to 1980. Dr. Young was founding professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama in Panama City and served as its dean for several years.

After graduating from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, he completed his training in internal medicine and pulmonary disease in Gorgas Hospital in Panama City, San Francisco General Hospital, and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Young served as chief of the department of respiratory disease at Gorgas Hospital until he retired in 1980.

He received the ACP Laureate Award in 1990 and was named a Master of the College in 1999. An obituary is online.
