College Watch: Special election held for President-elect

ACP conducted a special nomination process and election to fill the vacancy left in the President-elect position by Darilyn V. Moyer, MD, FACP, who will become ACP's Executive Vice President and CEO in September 2016. The Board of Regents and Board of Governors elected Jack Ende, MD, MACP, as the 2016-2017 President-elect.


In accordance with ACP bylaws, the Governance Committee conducted a special nomination process and election to fill the vacancy left in the President-elect position by Darilyn V. Moyer, MD, FACP, who will become ACP's Executive Vice President and CEO in September 2016. The Board of Regents and Board of Governors elected Jack Ende, MD, MACP, as the 2016-2017 President-elect. Dr. Ende's term as President-elect begins immediately and concludes at the April 2017 Annual Business Meeting, at which time he will serve as the College's President for a term of 1 year.

Present positions: Assistant dean for Advanced Medical Practice, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, 2013-present; assistant vice president, University of Pennsylvania Health System, 2013-present; executive medical director, Penn Signature Services, 2013-present; co-director, Academy of Master Clinicians, 2013-present; professor of medicine, department of medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, 1996-present; senior fellow, Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, University of Pennsylvania, 1992-present; Schaeffer Professor of Medicine, 2011-present.

Past position: Chief, department of medicine, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, 1997-2013.

Current clinical activities: Practicing general internist, and inpatient and outpatient teacher.
